Nature Trails

Enjoy 16-miles of groomed nature trails to walk, jog, or bicycle ride. Paths are clearly marked and a free trail map is available through Guest Services.  Trails provide views of the Texas Hill Country terrain and Lake Buchanan. Wildlife is abundant along the trails. Some trails are more steep and rugged while others are more level and smooth. You can see rabbits, roadrunners, deer, foxes, bobcats, snakes, and birds. Birds include American Bald Eagles (fall through spring), golden-cheeked warblers, painted buntings, black-capped vireos, cardinals, owls, and more. The plant life is also amazing and changes with the season. Bring your sense of adventure along with binoculars, a camera, or a sketchbook! Please wear closed shoes with a sturdy sole and have plenty of water on hand. Well-behaved leashed dogs are welcome on the trails, please do not let them frighten the wildlife, we are a guest in their home.

Some trails are closed seasonally to protect certain birds during their mating season and for annual LCRA conservation projects.

As an overnight Resort Guest, the fee for using the trail is included in your Park Resort Fee. For non-overnight guests, you will be charged a Day-Use Fee upon entering the Nature Park. $10 per person ages 8 years and above, $5 for those 65-years-old and above as well as active, and retired military and first-responders. Persons 7 years and younger are free. Guests paying the Day-Use Fee may utilize the trails, the lakefront beach, the Park Store, Overlook Restaurant, Eagles Nest Lounge, and enjoy live outdoor music on Saturday nights and outdoor movies on Friday nights.  For more information please call Guest Services at 512-334-2070 ext. 1.
