Learn about birds, bees & butterflies throughout March and April with informative speakers, presentations, activities, and hands-on things to do. Have fun learning about these essential Texas “residents” and the plant life that support them.
Activities and topics will range from novice to expert level. Participate in group butterfly releases, go on nature photo safaris, take guided nature walks, watch an observational beehive, build and fly a butterfly kite, purchase native pollinator plants and honey-related products. Learn how to nature journal and nature bathe.
Educational speakers will share their years of experience and education as they discuss endangered bird species and the joy of birding. What is the role of bees in nature and the benefits of beekeeping as a hobby and career? What is the life cycle of monarch butterflies, their migration patterns, and dwindling numbers?
