Tent Campsites

Chimney Slough (our drive up campsite area) and Tanner Point (our hike-in campsite area) are wooded tent campsites near or on Lake Buchanan. All campsites are equipped with a picnic table and fire pit and a nearby porta-potty. Fisherman’s Point, a group tent camping site, accommodates 100+ people and is ideal for private outdoor activities.

All tent campers have access to the RV bathhouse, with restrooms and showers, and select park amenities including Overlook Restaurant, Eagles Nest Lounge, and the Guest Service’s gift shop stocked with ice, cold drinks, snacks, first aid, souvenir clothes, and giftables.

Campers may also enjoy the lakefront park area, groomed nature trails, live music performances on the Patio, Movies Under the Stars, the nightly s’mores firepit, and free nature programs like guided walks. Fee-based activities are also offered such as the Observatory & kayak rentals.

Canyon of the Eagles requires a minimum 2 night stay in any of our overnight lodging options which consist of guest rooms, RV and tent campsites. This applies to both groups and individuals. Some holidays, but not all, require a minimum 3-night stay.

In addition to the campsite rental, a $6 per-day Park Fee is charged for each person eight years of age and above. The Park Fee covers many of the amenities and programs offered, such as the nightly firepit on the Patio, outdoor movies on Friday nights, live music on Saturday nights, the private lakefront, access to 16-miles of nature trails, attending guided nature hikes, and other nature education programs. Camping guests are also welcome to dine in or order to-go food and drink from Overlook Restaurant and the Eagles Nest Lounge. Campers have full access of park amenities, with exception of the swimming pool due to limited capacity. A flat reservation fee of $6 per site will be charged at check in.

Parking is free for cars and boats. Boat parking is offered at two parking lots at the resort.

To preserve the critical dark sky for nature and wildlife, we ask that all exterior lighting be turned off by 10 pm.

Fisherman's Point Group Campsite

Along the shoreline of Lake Buchanan sits Fisherman’s Point, a group campsite. Able to accommodate up to 150 people, it’s the perfect spot for a large group (Scout, church, business retreat, or family reunion) seeking a private, wooded, large, lakeside campsite. A port-a-potty is available on-site with access to the RV bathhouse and trash disposal. Campers may enjoy the live music, outdoor movies, guided hikes, snake education program, and dine in the restaurant. Campers may not use the swimming pool. A Park Fee of $6 per day plus tax, for each person over 8 yrs. of age is charged in addition to the site rental. This covers most of the amenities and programs. A flat reservation fee of $6 plus tax per site will be charged at check in.

tanner point campsite

Situated on a small peninsula on Lake Buchanan, our Tanner Point campsites are WALK-IN ONLY campsites. All ten campsites are equipped with a picnic table, fire pit, dumpster, and port-a-potty access.

A port-a-potty is available on-site with access to the RV bathhouse and trash disposal. Campers may enjoy the live music, outdoor movies, guided hikes, snake education program, and dine in the restaurant. Campers may not use the swimming pool. A Park Fee of $6 per day plus tax, for each person over 8 yrs. of age is charged in addition to the site rental. This covers most of the amenities and programs. A flat reservation fee of $6 per site plus tax will be charged at check in.
