$ Eagle Eye Observatory
The Eagle Eye Observatory is an unofficial dark sky location and is considered one of the best astronomic viewing sites in Texas. Enjoy night sky constellation tours and views of the universe. The observatory experience is led by astronomer Jim Sheets who makes the heavenly bodies both interesting and understandable for adults and kids. This experience is offered exclusively to overnight resort guests on Friday and Saturday nights. Click here to see more detailed information about the Eagle Eye Observatory.
When cloudy weather does not permit telescope viewing, the astronomer provides a program via a large screen television with planetarium software, videos, and comprehensive interactive Q/A sessions. Sessions are offered Wednesday – Sunday at 10 pm, 11 pm, and Midnight (hours may vary based on time of year and resort occupancy).
Only on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays may day-use visitors attend the 10 pm observatory session. Please make a reservation and prepay through Guest Sevices at 512-334-2070 ext. 1. Day-use visitors pay the same observatory fee plus the day-use fee.
Reservations are required and may be made at check-in or by calling prior to your arrival at 512-334-2070 ext. 1. The price is $10 per person. A maximum of 20 guests are permitted at each session.
Private sessions for up to 20 are $200.
